Rethymnon

Up and out early today. Left at 7 a.m. stopped at the cashpoint in Georgioupolis and met clients by 7.30 to go into Rethymnon early. the weather was warm again, but not so windy. Off into town then, first stop was DEH ( electricity board) to close their account and open a new one in the name of the house purchaser. All went smoothly except we had forgotten to take a meter reading before we left so while we were doing the paperwork Al shot back to the village to take the reading. All done and now all they have to do is to go back in a couple of days to pay their final bill and get their deposit back. From there we walked down through the town to the Phone office where the procedure was repeated, except they wanted an extra piece of paper that I must get by Monday. Out of town then and a stop to pay my car insurance and get a quote for another car. On to the water board to change the name on the water bill - except it was closed as the man is out collecting his olives. A quick trip into the local post office to let them know about the new occupant of the house and away. During this time I had also been making calls to errant builder, who was fortunately answering his phone today. Back to Georgioupolis and a bit of shopping, teabags and pork chops, and an order in the butchers for chicken souvlakis. I noticed that there is a lot of work going on in Sinatra's bar which will be re opening under new management before Christmas. Home then and a bit of housework and lunch before settling down to finishing my essay, checking the footnotes and bibliography and eventually getting it sent off to the Uni. Now I have a week to do some serious reading before the multichoice question paper next week....
