What's New?

On Wednesday I went to a meeting  at Kalyves Town Hall where Mr Koukianakis started his election campaign. The room was full with candidates, from Vamos, Fres and Kalyves, who will be standing for election as councillors or village representatives. Mr Koukianakis spoke about what the opposition had proposed and supported over the last three years and what they want to do in the future. He discussed Agriculture, Tourism, Environment and many other subjects, one of which was supporting the young people in the area. The meeting was very positive and I will be telling all of you more about it very soon!

This morning I went to Chania airport to see my daughter off to the UK. She has won a place at University to study Theatre. She has started to write her own blog about her studies and the events leading up to them. Some of you in Crete will recognize her from the Toneel Drama group productions

Later in the day I met a group of residents from Kokkino Chorio and told them what was happening on the election front and what my own plans were. We discussed the problems they encountered in their village and surrounding area and what positive things they would like to see the next council doing. Currently there is work going on to improve the village square with seating areas and flowerbeds, but there is much more to do!
