Busy Day

Yesterday I started the day at the town hall where several people came to check whether they needed to update their voters registration because of new passports. In the event half of them did and half of them not. If you are in doubt it is easy to check and easy to put right - must be done by the end of February though! For more information take a look at the website here which is updated as new information comes in and the candidates declare themselves.
There were some other people with problems and I was able to get them pointed in the right direction to find solutions. Some will be longer term than others.
When I left the town hall - complete with a big sack of plastic bottle tops donated to the charity who collects them to raise money for wheelchairs for disabled children - I had a meeting with two potential candidates for the next elections. There are a lot of decisions being made at the moment as to who is standing and where, again all of this must be decided by the end of the month.
After this I caught up on e-mails and other work until it was time to meet with a friend who is also thinking of becoming involved in the elections. There is a lot of information for all of us to take in. The day was not helped by the incessant rain, but at least it is not as bad here as it is in my favourite village of Porthleven in Cornwall, and my dream house ( should I ever win the lottery..) up on the cliff:

Today a totally different day. The weather a little better and I went to check a house for a friend who is not here at the moment and to check for electricity and other bills. All was well, the house was fine, the garden was not flooded and the bills have not yet arrived. After that a trip to the shops, catch up with office work, phone calls and so on and the rest of the day cooking and preparing for a party a friend is holding. I am helping with the  catering. So all in all a couple of fairly 'normal' days although they were both completely different!
