Random tarmac

Over the last few days in several villages some of the potholes have been filled

Unfortunately it seems random

Fill two, miss one, fill three, miss two!

The worst spot seems to be outside Kefalas, it has already been ascertained that the whole road needs to be completely re built - not just holes filled in or a layer of tarmac over the lot

The village representative - soon to be councillor -Stavros Stavroulakis, has been in discussions with the prefecture and the governor of Crete and has their promise to rebuild the road properly

Meanwhile a few less pot holes - even if temporary must be a good thing as it was very dangerous

A splurge of tar has been put to cover the worst of the ravine when you turn right coming into Georgioupolis from Vamos direction - again it looks very temporary.

  1. Millions have been spent on a road by us, not because it's of any use to anyone but because it opens up the land for selling property's!!! The roads that do get used are a nightmare if you are on a scooter or bike!!!! You go round a corner, hit a pot hole and you are off!!! (I have the scars to prove it) Sort out the roads and save on medical bills!!!

  2. As usual, we had all the pre-election promises, including yours, and the candidate you support. Once they are in power, they do nothing. All the ayors should be forced to drive on a scooter from Neo Xorio to Agoii Pantes and from Kalyves to Kalami. That way they might understand.

    1. Don't forget the New Mayor and council are not yet in power so can do nothing yet! They take over on September 1st! :-)

  3. All the roads are poor, the national highway has stretches that need resurfacing but are filled up with small amounts of tarmac which is in the main a waste of time and resource. Ok if we've no money they can't be repaired and the situation will get worse

  4. The workers need to be trained to fill potholes properly.
