Snow!

Image
Many of you will be enjoying - or hating- the sudden snowfall we had here in Crete. You will have been sharing photos of beautiful scenic Crete covered in white.  Spare a thought for the workers who were out in it all day trying to keep the roads and village accesses clear! There were 4 council machines and 7 leased ones out all day till darkness fell The scale of the problem Some farms had been cut off and it was vital to get to them Well you have to eep your head warm somehow!  Thanks Guys! Hmm don't fancy the drop! Very pretty - but! Here comes the cavalry! Wow! That's looking better! More snow on the way A huge thank you to all of you who were out working yesterday, and starting early again today! Photos from Giannis Koukourakis, councillor in charge of Transport and machinery.

Many of you will know Eva and Nikos from the Vamos town hall - though Nikos is often out on site while Eva takes your phone calls and informs the team where the problems are. Apre a thought for them out is all weathers  Some work is scheduled. Improvements to the existing supply which is mostly very old Some is new, extending the supply Finding where the problem lies! New pipes for old
