A Thank you to the volunteers of Apokoronas

Last week the social services held a small event to thank the many people of all nationalities for their help. The use of the Institute of typography in Agias Pantes was arranged ( no charge, as this is how they give their support) and many people were invited. Some of the women's groups provided refreshments before the event.
Of course there were many speeches, including one from Canon Philip - the Anglican priest of the area - which he presented off the cuff in Greek.

A huge mix of people of many nationalities who have each helped in their own ways - many were unable to be with us on the night.

The greek Orthodox church

President of "The Bank of Hania"

Representatives of village groups who have taken part in fundraising

Individuals

Volunteers who help the social supermarket

Musicians, performers and fundraisers who have given their time and expertise.

Many thanks to Eparxiako Fos for the use of some of their photographs

It is important to remember that as well as European Volunteers, many local Greek people and groups hold events for raising funds, are part of the Apokoronas blood bank, help youngsters with athletic groups, elderly people in their homes, environment issues etc.

Certificates were handed out as a small gesture of thanks

Thank you again, all of you who help in your various ways. We know it is not done for thanks but you receive the thanks of all of Apokoronas anyway!
