A busy week

Where has the week gone? Between the council, the play, university and "The day job" the week has shot by and I don't know where it has gone!
Monday morning I had a play rehearsal at Kefalas followed by a  meeting with a member of the local community and a deputy mayor in Vrysses town hall. In the evening was the main council meeting at which many subjects were voted on - including the pedestrianisation of Georgioupolis village square. The meeting went very well and although there was naturally much discussion pretty much all of the items on the agenda passed unanimously. - there were just a couple where the communist party leader voted against the issues on principal.
Tuesday I went up to the village of Episkopi to check the house of a client who was due to arrive and to make sure it was well aired. I also went up into the village to check for post for him and speak to the man in the water board about changing the name on the bill. I had to also arrange to get the keys for the meeting room in Vamos  town hall for the new  animal welfare group who were to meet there on Wednesday. After that I had a rehearsal for "The Play". Wednesday - all day in Hania with my client. Met with the civil engineer but we were unable to do our other jobs because of the national strike and related marches etc.

Thursday, again with my client - this time we want to Rethymnon, changed the misspelling of his name on the electricity bill, cancelled the phone as he decided he did not need it and sorted out his internet banking. We went into the village afterwards and changed the name on the water bill. This was done by an elderly man in a tiny little shop surrounded by wine and gas bottles! In the evening I had a meeting in the village of Armenoi to settle some detail for the Battle of Crete celebration due to be held there on Saturday.
Friday we had our regular two weekly meeting ( this time on the Friday as it would clash with the Armenoi celebration afterwards.) Apart from general updates we also heard from the newsletter team and the co ordinator of the new animal welfare group. Lots of work to do! Friday evening was another council meeting  - this time to vote on the budget. Lots of facts and figures, discussion and a few amendments. Now it has to be passed by the regional prefecture!
